Get to Know Mrs. Matje

Juliet Matje, Supervisor of Special Education, has been at North Penn School District since July of 2014. She began her teaching career as a middle school Special Education teacher at an approved private school and then moved to a Behavior Support Specialist position within that organization. Juliet then became the Special Education Coordinator at a charter school in Philadelphia. Juliet was a Supervisor at North Penn High School for the past four years and is now at the Elementary level.

Juliet earned a dual bachelors degree in both Elementary and Special Education from LaSalle University. She then received her master's degree in Special Education from St. Joseph's University, as well as her Supervisor of Special Education certificate from Penn State University. She is currently attending Delaware Valley University in pursuit of an Educational Leadership Doctorate and Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. Juliet always wanted to be a first-grade teacher since the time she was a little girl, but then after completing field experiences and spending time in the classroom, she realized that her true passion was in Special Education. She enjoys advocating for students who require additional supports and brainstorming with teams on how to best support these students not only in the classroom but ultimately helping students and families plan for transition to life after high school.
